Vision in Harmony

The most beautiful creations are often born from collaboration. When craftsmanship, vision, and respect come together, the creative process transforms into an art form.

At the start of my career, I stood on the doorstep of Edgar Heins at Maretti Lighting, filled with ambition. I believed I had something special to offer, and thankfully, Edgar saw it too. He gave me the freedom to realize my vision, leading to a collaboration that not only gave my career a tremendous boost but also resulted in a valuable, long-lasting relationship.

Today, I am both proud and grateful to have developed my work as a designer into a space where I feel valued. This success did not come without determination, focus, and collaboration. From the beginning, I aimed not only to create aesthetic designs but to craft something with lasting impact – designs that are both innovative and meaningful.

Collaboration and Mutual Respect

One of my recent projects with Maretti was the redesign of one of their six boardrooms. I noticed a space that needed refreshing and felt it was a challenge I was ready to take on. When Edgar asked me to design a boardroom in honor of Maretti’s 30th anniversary, I was deeply honored and seized the opportunity with both hands.

This project, however, was far from a solo effort. Its success stemmed from the power of collaboration – sharing ideas, inspiring one another, and building something greater together. With a talented team, we created a space that exudes tranquility, elegance, and harmony.

It’s not just about the final result but about the process of creation.

Craftsmanship and Collaboration in Perfection

The collaboration with Maretti Lighting provided the stunning illumination that brings the space to life. JPG Hulsebosch delivered impeccable craftsmanship in bespoke furniture, while BVO Woodculture crafted wooden floors that seamlessly extend into the ceiling, cabinets, and table – all based on my design. Van Hollandse Bodem contributed a beautiful micro-concrete floor, and Norbert Doppen designed a serene Japanese garden, adding a calming presence to the space. Indivipro handled the window coverings, Alphenberg created the suede walls, and Dofine added the refined stucco finishes. Soon, a new outdoor collection I designed with Borek Outdoor Furniture will also grace the boardroom.

The space is further enriched by artworks from Paulien Huizinga. Her pieces complement my designs perfectly, adding a unique and artistic dimension to the boardroom.

The strength of a project lies in the details and the energy of the team.

The Magic of the Process

What moves me most is the moment when everything comes together – when the result aligns perfectly with the vision. But the journey is just as special: working with dedicated partners who bring energy and passion to achieve the best possible outcome. With music playing in the background, sometimes barefoot and sweating to meet the deadline, there’s an extraordinary energy in those moments. This is followed by the magical moment when everything seamlessly falls into place. Every detail, from the furniture to the accessories, has been carefully designed and considered.

This week, we celebrate 30 years of Maretti Lighting – a remarkable milestone that fills me with pride. I look forward with excitement to what our collaboration will bring in the future.
